Despite many people keeping in touch via the internet, there is nothing quite like receiving a hand written note, letter or card is there? It's even better if the stationary you use or receive has been hand crafted too!
Here's a gorgeous 'Love Notes Compendium' that I designed that you can either make for yourself OR better yet, give to a close friend or family member whom you know likes to keep in touch the more 'traditional' way.
Step 1. Take a standard Manila Folder, open it out flat and fold approximately 8cm up along the bottom – this will later form the pockets in which the paper & envelopes will sit. Cut a ‘V’ from the centre of this flap (see diagram below) to allow the Manila Folder to fold in half once more without buckling. Trim the top of the Manila Folder so that it's overall length is 23cm and viola – there you have your compendium!
Step 2. Cover both sides of your compendium in pattern paper of your choice – you will find that one sheet of 12 x 12 paper will not be enough to cover the whole thing in one go – see how I have used two pattern papers on my cover but used some of the border stickers to ‘hide’ the join! I added a length of 1cm wide organza ribbon to the spine, knotting it on the inside so that it would provide some extra reinforcing to the compendium over time.
Step 3. Decorate the cover and inside of your compendium with stickers, chipboard letters and any other embellishments or accents that you like.
Step 4. Download the Notepaper and print onto A5 size paper. You will find that there is enough room at the top for you to place half a 12 inch border sticker AND then at the bottom, a co-ordinating sticker as well!
Step 5. Decorate matching envelopes with a sticker in the top left corner and Viola - one ‘Love Notes Compendium!
Until next time.
