I'm still finding it hard to believe that today James turned 11 - just where exactly have those years gone?
Having seen a decadent chocolate Mud Cake at a local bakery over the last school holidays, James had asked if he could have one of them for his birthday cake - it was so delicious let me tell you BUT I was a good girl and only had a very small slice - after all, I don't want to undo all the good I'm achieving by my walking routine!
Whilst I didn't have to bake this particular cake, I did bake a double sized chocolate cake in a fluted doughnut style tin to take to school at recess for James' classmates - goodness, 19 children can certainly make short work of a consuming a whole cake! The only thing I forgot to do before I took the cake down to the school was take a photograph of it! Doh! How did I manage that? Oh well - it wasn't anything real spectacular - just the cake iced with some orange chocolate sticks all standing up in the centre! It was good to see that the kids thought it was so impressive though!
