What a day we had at the Melbourne Zoo! The weather was perfect, the bus trip went well and the kids (and adults) all had a fantastic time - the only downside was probably that we ended up a little rushed - we could've had another hour there and it would have just been perfect. None-the-less, it was a great day and now I'll bore you with a few favourite photos - *grin*
I do so love how graceful these animals appear!
What's a visit to the zoo without seeing the elephants right?
Despite the heat in the Butterfly House, I loved snapping away at all the different species - Adam wasn't impressed though - he just wanted to get out - he didn't like how stuffy & humid it was in there!
We could have watched these guys for ages - they have such a wonderful personality and when they come right up to the glass it's like they are trying to work out exactly who YOU are! Tthis particular one though just laid there with its' blanket over its' head looking so sad and lonely with its' eyes either looking down or off to the side.
What's not to love about these cute little guys?
By the time we got to the Lion enclosure, they had just been fed and this one was attempting to get to the meat that was placed on the top of this log platform - just off to the left of the photo. Just look at the size of those front paws!
Ohh - so sweet - a bear taking an afternoon nap!
I wasn't sure how photos in the Reptile building would come out BUT I'm thrilled with the results - despite the low light, I managed to get some great shots!
There are a few others that I'll upload into my Photgraphy Album - scroll down in the left-hand menu if you are interested and want to take a peak too!
Until next time,
