Yes . . . I am indeed a friend of PageMaps! Remember last week I shared a sneak peak of a double page I'd done BUT I couldn't give the full details . . . well . . . that's because I've been waiting for the December PageMaps Newsletter to be released! I've loved receiving my monthly newsletter from PageMaps for some time now and was so thrilled to have been asked to be a contributor this month . . . thanks so much Becky for this wonderful opportunity!
Here's the sketch that I was sent to work with -
AND here's the corresponding double page that I created for the December newsletter -
Aside from a few mulberry blossoms, all the other flowers were handcut from the pattern paper and I then used my stylus & balling tool to add a little dimension to them before mounting them on my page with a little foam tape (check out my 'Creating Visual Depth' page if you want more information on this type of technique). I then used my new Lace punch to create the horizontal lace sections either side of the aqua blue cardstock and some gorgeous embroidered ribbon to divide the two pattern paper sections on the left.
I encourage you to check out the whole newsletter and see all the fabulous new artists that Becky has featured this month . . . there are some wonderful creative ideas shared by everyone!
On the home front, whilst it was rather warm and I had to contend with some mosquitos & flies, I braved the outdoors today and did a little gardening . . . I must say it's nice to look out our study window now and see a section of our garden that isn't as overgrown as what it was ealier today!
We then spent the afternoon watching the V8 Supercars but unfortunatley we didn't get the Ford championship win that we'd hoped for - oh well . . . there's always next year! Whilst we watched though, the boys and I managed to get our Christmas Tree up and decorated. It's always something that we do on the first of December BUT time just seemed to get away from us yesterday and so we ended up leaving the tree to do until today . . . I've taken a few pics which I hope to download off the camera tomorrow and and share with you soon!
Until next time . . .
