When it comes to Christmas (and even birthday's and other special occasions when gifts are given), I used to always love adding bows & ribbons to the wrapping to make them that little bit more special; although I have to confess that because 'wrappings' have just become so expensive, I tend to not worry about adding them at all now *insert sad face* Instead I tend to just choose a nice wrapping paper and include one of my handcrafted cards.
However . . . that was before now . . .
Whilst I was checking out some of my fellow bloggers over the weekend - I came across these gorgeous Paper Bows that Tina had made using the instructions she'd found here
Of course I couldn't resist giving them a go myself and I must say that they were so very easy to make and because they only use half a 12 x 12 piece of pattern paper, they will be a great way to use up more of my left overs too!
Here's my first attempt at a Paper Bow -
And a close-up shot too -
The only supplies were like I said, were a half a sheet of 12 x 12 double sided pattern paper (I used some leftover Fancy Pants Designs 'Aged Florals') AND 3 small brads and some glue dots! So easy!
The only thing I did differently to the instructions was to apply the adhesive on the same side and I didn't worry about alternating the layers like they described - although, I must admit, I do like the idea of doing that too! I think they'd also look great with maybe some glitter or Kindy Klitz being added to them too!
I must admit I'm quite surprised with how durable the bow is - I guess because the Fancy Pants paper is of a thicker quality, that has definitely helped. I'm sure it's going to look great sitting atop a special Christmas gift I need for a fellow scrapper next week!
On the home front, we've just had a shower of rain, with a little more showing on the radar as on it's way - it's a shame we missed the thunderstorm that just went by though- oh well! So, since everything is wet outside, I'm going to put away the last of my groceries I grabbed this morning and then get stuck into my ironing. I absolutely detest ironing BUT since catching up on the overflowing basket I had a few weeks ago, I've been really good at washing, ironing and putting away each day so that it doesn't get out of control! I might hate ironing BUT I DO LOVE NOT HAVING ANY IRONING SITTING AROUND waiting for me to do *grin*.
Until next time . . .
