Well . . . we were all meant to be at Go-Kart racing today BUT instead James & Stuart have gone and I'm here at home with Adam who has a temperature and has had a couple of vomiting spells this morning. He's still laying on the couch not looking very enthused about much at all.
So . . . I thought I would share some pics from yesterday when we went to my parents and to catch up with my brother, sister-in-law and niece (who I mentioned in an earlier post, was having her 2nd birthday yesterday).
Just to set the scene for some of these photos . . . my mum's parents had a poultry farm which was adjoining their property - being the oldest grandchild, I have lots of memories of going over to the farm during it's working days - collecting eggs, raising chicks, feeding chooks and so on. However, both my grandparents have now passed away, and rather than trying to sell the old run down poultry farm property as it was, Dad began pulling down the various sheds. It's been quite a long, slow process and one that is certainly sad too because each and every shed holds so many memories for all of us!
This photo was taken a few months back and these sheds are now all gone . . .

And all the 'West' sheds are gone in this shot too with just the concrete steps that led up to each of them being left behind . . . I wonder how many times Nana & Grand-dad walked up those steps to attend to the birds inside?
Here's a photo from yesterday with all the burning going on - James was quite the little helper too, finding bits of wood here and there to throw on the fires as well . . . whilst he never saw the farm in it's working state, he certainly remembers going into the sheds and finding little treasures here and there. I know these pics don't mean anything to most of you reading my blog BUT I'm posting them here for my own memories.
Now for some photos of the kids that were taken around the farm property from yesterday. How cute is this photo of the 3 cousins together - although you can tell that Adam isn't 100% well!

And what about these two shots of James - I can't believe how much 'older' he looks in the second one!

And here's one of Adam on his own too . . . I just loved using the old shed and this old jack as a part of the background for some of the photos I took! I've now got the old jack at home here ready to put in the garden somewhere - I'd love to get an old wagon one day, so this might just be the perfect compliment to go with it!

Boy oh boy! Such a long post . . . sorry about that - I guess it makes up for the few short ones I've had this week!
Until next time . . .
