It's been absolutely ages since I blogged . . . too many other things going on and a feeling of not gaining control I guess you would say. Thankfully, I'm feeling more on top of things at the moment and my creativity is returning too which has been wonderful. I hate sitting there and staring at my current project with a blank look. Today my work space is covered in paint, ribbon, adhesive, pattern paper, cardstock, letter stickers, rubons, blossoms & brads - it's all happening for sure!
In July we took a two week holiday to Tweed Heads where my mother-in-law lives. We had a simply wonderful time and came back with many photos and fond memories - plenty of scrapbooking material for sure!
Whilst we were away, we found this Artificial Plant & Flower store that was having a closing down sale and a Florist which had some awesome floral displays in the window . . . we've been wanting to get some orchids to put in an arrangement at the front door but just hadn't found the right items to make something with. A few years back before James was born, I did a Floral Art correspondence course and often have a little play with flowers and was keen to make something a little more permanent.
Here is the results . . . glass containers, leather cord, dried moss, hebel chips (from the handcarved columns that Stuart made that holds the glass shelf) and the artificial orchids. I'm so pleased with the results and am looking forward to having a play with the blue items that we bought too - just need to find the right pot to sit in the corner of the lounge - something in a blue shade OR I'll just have to paint it!
