As Adam has begun his journey into Pre-School education (3-year-old) it has started me thinking about returning to work once he gets to the school environment . . . I know it's still a little time away BUT a committment to return to work I don't think can be made lightly.
If I return to full-time work (I am a qualified Early Childhood Educator) means I will have less time to be involved in the boys schooling - I'm currently the Secretary of the Parent Club, run the school's book club and help out whenever I can. Obviously, work would impede on my involvement considerably. That is why I am leaning more towards relief teaching . . . there is such a huge demand in my area, my hours would be a little more flexible - sure it's not definate as to when or if I would be working BUT the boys schooling and afterschool activities would be able to be considered. It's a good thing I have plenty of time to make up my mind :)
I was very inspired by a page that was featured in in a recent scrapbooking magazine by Leanne Ryan, who had scrapped her perspective on her current role in life as a 'Stay-At-Home-Mum' - at this time of returning to work consideration, I was inspired to document my thoughts on this topic too . . . thanks so much Leanne for your inspiration!
I also used a technique of a hole punched border that I recently saw in an issue of CK . . . I used 4 different sized hole punches that I picked up ages ago in a discount store to create the scroll borders, before adhering a piece of black cardstock to the back to make the holes more pronounced - this technique looks fantastic with multi-coloured paper behind it too! The words 'housewife', 'homemaker', etc have been done with the CBX Chippycircles font which, after having been printed along with the journaling onto a clear transparency, I painted the reverse of each Chippycircle with white paint to make the letters stand out! You wouldn't really know that they weren't letter stickers now would you?
