Apricots & Plumcots - Fresh from our garden!
We've been waiting a few weeks now for this day - prior to this we've only been able to pick the occasional ripe piece of fruit here or there BUT last night, we were able to pick quite a few!
These are the gorgeous clusters of Apricots hanging in our tree at the moment! Hopefully the birds won't find them, as the tree is just too big to try and put a net over!
We actually picked about 4 kilograms of them last night and there is at least 5 times that still left on the tree! The 5 cent coin (which is about three quarters an inch in diameter) is just to give an idea of the size of the fruit. Mmm - yummy!
These are our absolutely delicious 'Plumcots' growing on their tree. This fruit is a cross between an Apricot and a Plum - the fruit ends up having the texture of an apricot BUT the flavour of a plum!
There's just nothing quite like the taste and freshness of homegrown fruit is there?
Until next time,
